A few days ago, Naughty Dog confirmed through its director Neil Druckmann that another game was in development in addition to Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Naturally, fans immediately thought of either The Last of Us 3 or Uncharted 5. Very soon after, we received some additional information about this famous mystery game. And the studio is reportedly preparing something else that might leave no one indifferent.
Whether it's Uncharted 5 or something else, Naughty Dog will still go hard
In an interview on the Press X to Continue podcast, Neil Druckmann, director of Naughty Dog, indicated that the studio was working on another unannounced game alongside Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet, its next new franchise and main priority, and that he was "more than a producer" on it. Is this finally the highly anticipated Uncharted 5 or The Last of Us 3? Unfortunately, it seems not, as revealed via an interview with Sacred Symbols+, again by Neil Druckmann. The man also mentioned the following on the subject in the Press X to Continue podcast: "I can coach, observe this other team, give feedback and be the leader in the room"
We could then possibly count on a smaller game, or a spin-off on a smaller scale from Naughty Dog, in addition to Intergalactic. If we believe the insider Shinobi602, however, this would not be the case. On ResetEra, many wondered if it would be a more modest title. To which he responded straight away: "No". While The Last of Us 3 can be ruled out, the possibility of an Uncharted 5 isn't completely ruled out yet.
Even though Naughty Dog seemed to be done with Nathan Drake, a few doors were still open in the universe, notably with his daughter. She could have inherited her father's adventurous talents and her mother's photography skills. A truly next-gen Uncharted 5 could therefore make sense. Especially since Intergalactic isn't likely to be released for a few more years. We can therefore expect the next Naughty Dog game, whether Uncharted 5 or otherwise, to be released on PS6. Time will tell.
