Xiaomi details the fixes coming in the 2.2 update of HyperOS, its in-house Android overlay. Among them are the resolution of two bugs affecting owners of the brand's latest smartphones.
No rest for Xiaomi. The Chinese manufacturer is busy on all fronts between the release of its new YU7 electric car and its new mobile devices, the Xiaomi 15S Pro and Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra. With all this, one might imagine that the brand would forget its HyperOS Android overlay that will replace MIUI at the end of 2023. This is not the case, and fortunately: since the deployment of the latest beta update, 2.2, several users have reported particularly annoying problems.
In detail, the two main ones concern owners of a Xiaomi 14 running HyperOS 2.0.201.2 for one, a Xiaomi 15 running HyperOS 2.0.201.2, Xiaomi 14 Pro running 2.0.200.17 or Xiaomi 14 running 2.0.200.17 for the other. On the Xiaomi Community website, we learn that these bugs will be fully resolved after an update to HyperOS 2.2 on these devices, which are still in beta.

Those affected are finding that the desktop of their Xiaomi smartphone reloads for no reason under certain unspecified circumstances. Others explain that their Camera app closes by itself. A frequent crash that can now be forgotten. Note that similar crashes for owners of a Redmi K80 with the Professional camera mode activated are also over.
Xiaomi specifies that there are still bugs to be fixed. Examples include the inability to add a wallpaper locally or lock screen sound problems when the mobile is in Do Not Disturb mode. The teams are already working on resolving them, while remaining attentive to user feedback on the latest fixes.
The deployment date of a stable version of HyperOS 2.2 on compatible devices is not yet known. It is reasonable to assume that it will not be long since, according to the latest known information, HyperOS 3.0 should arrive sooner than expected. The overlay will be based on Android 16.
