This summer, on July 9, 2025 to be precise, Samsung will renew its range of folding smartphones. The Korean manufacturer has finally decided to release a cheaper version of its clamshell smartphone. We would thus be entitled to a Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE in addition to the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
What will be the concrete differences between the two models? For several weeks, rumors have been pointing towards a reduced price, probably under 1000 euros, and a slightly less powerful chip. But the leaker Evan Blass, via his newsletter, has just added an important element. According to what he says and the renderings they share, the design would change between the two models.
A Z Flip 7 FE with a false air of Z Flip 6
To be more precise, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE would more or less take up the design of the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Samsung undoubtedly wanting to make profitable a chassis that has proven itself in order to reach a new audience. The Z Flip 7 would adopt the new design.
If we compare the two side by side, we can see two notable differences. The first and most visible concerns the external screen, which would be cut off at the level of the camera modules on the Z Flip 7 FE, exactly as is already the case on the Z Flip 6. The Z Flip 7, on the other hand, would move to a completely new design with the screen passing "under" the camera modules. Second, more subtle difference: the borders around the external screen would be significantly thinner on the new model.
All this should help create a range effect between the two devices and leave buyers with a fairly clear choice: prefer the old design while saving some money or increase their budget to look for a more refined design.
