Amazon will flood us with AI-generated video ads

Get ready for an avalanche of AI-generated video clips to arrive on Amazon. The company is providing sellers on its platform with a free tool to create promotional videos for their products. There's no doubt that it's still being exploited to excess and that we'll soon be inundated with this type of content.

This AI video generator was available in beta, and now it's available to all advertisers in the United States, pending a more widespread deployment. “Over the past nine months, we've continued to push the impossible, developing an improved version of the video generator, capable of creating sophisticated video ads with realistic motion, where the product is fully integrated into the action or scene,” explains Jay Richman, vice president of product and technology at Amazon.

Amazon embraces AI video ads

Compared to the first version, the movement and realism have been improved. “The video generator no longer only produces lifestyle scenes integrating the product, but is now capable of showing the product in action,” assures Amazon. The number 1 online retailer adds that some items, like clothing or watches, benefit from being seen worn, which is possible with the new system. Toys and tools also show off their best in action.

Amazon's video generator allows you to create multiple scenes, animated text, and background music. Recent updates also give it the ability to smooth transitions and add pets and humans. Sellers can also submit an existing video to the AI so that it can take inspiration from it and generate a new video of the desired length. Brands can also integrate their logo into these videos.

“Thanks to the video generator, we can easily create personalized videos based on specific product searches,” says Destaney Wishon, CEO of advertising agency BTR Media. Our browsing experience on Amazon is likely to be disrupted in the coming months.
