Until now, Free had ensured not to pass on the latest Netflix increase to the price of its subscriptions that include the platform. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. Depending on your plan, you'll have to pay up to 16 euros more to continue enjoying the streaming service!

For streaming platforms, price increases have become what's called a chestnut in the press. A recurring and predictable event, like the start of the school year or the Christmas holidays. It must be admitted that we are unfortunately entitled to a "price increase" every year on all the most popular services.

Recently, Spotify has once again raised its prices in France for the third consecutive year. And on the streaming side, Netflix joined the movement last April. Since then, the world number 1 has increased the prices of all its plans without exception. Now, we must put on the table:

  • €7.99/month for the Standard plan with ads
  • €14.99/month for the Standard plan without ads
  • €21.99/month for the Premium plan (4K)

Obviously, some operators that include Netflix in their offers have been forced to pass this increase on to their subscribers' bills. However, Free has resisted and promised not to change the amount charged to its subscribers. Until now.

Your Free bill will increase... because of Netflix

Indeed, and as reported by the site 60 million consumers, the Web Troublemaker will change its tune in August 2025. Concretely, and depending on your offer with the ISP, you will have to pay more to continue enjoying Netflix with your Freebox subscription.

More precisely, it is Freebox Delta subscribers who will feel the pinch. Until now, these customers could enjoy the Netflix Essential plan (without ads) for free, billed at €8.99/month. But the problem is that this offer has since disappeared, replaced by the one with ads.

Up to €16 more per month!

And with the platform's recent increase, Free has decided to align itself with Netflix's current offer. In other words, it is indeed the plan with ads that will be provided “free” to Delta subscribers. And if they wish to keep their old plan, the Standard plan without ads, they will have to pay the difference: €9 per month. The principle is the same with the Premium offer, for which you will have to add €16 to your monthly Free bill.

What about those who were already content with Netflix with ads, whether with the Freebox Delta or the Freebox Ultra? Good news for them, Free has decided to absorb the increase made by Netflix (the price has gone up by €2, as a reminder). In other words, nothing changes for them… At least, until the next increase?
