The upcoming Battlefield 6 has been the talk of the town for months, with leaked videos all over the web. Despite the excitement, EA and its studios have remained fairly silent... until now. For the first time, a project manager has officially mentioned the game's presentation. The announcement is coming, but not everything is clear yet. Here's a look at what we really know.
A presentation soon for Battlefield 6?
Battlefield fans can breathe easy. Electronic Arts has confirmed that the next installment in the popular FPS series will indeed be presented this summer. No Battlefield 6 trailer yet, but a clear message from the developers. The wait is coming to an end, even if some gray areas remain.
It was Andy McNamara, Head of Global Communications at Battlefield Studios, who reacted on social media. Asked about a possible announcement in June, he responded lightly but reassuringly. According to him, the team is actively preparing the reveal, which will indeed take place this summer. We will therefore have to wait a little longer, probably until July or August, to finally discover the game. Perhaps during Gamescom?
A massive project led by several studios
This new Battlefield 6, still without an official name, is being developed by an alliance of studios united under the Battlefield Studios banner. It includes DICE, Ripple Effect, Criterion Games, and EA Motive. This large-scale collaboration clearly demonstrates the project's ambition. According to the latest information, the game is currently in the testing phase, with a particular focus on the destruction mechanics, an emblematic element of the franchise. In an intriguing little detail, several members of the team have suggested that the single-player campaign is inspired by unexpected sources like Dead Space or Civil War-style themes (the Alex Garland film).
Even if EA remains discreet about the exact date, we already know that the Battlefield 6 game must be released before the end of the 2025-2026 fiscal year, that is, before March 2026. This leaves a reasonable timeline for a presentation this summer followed by a launch next year, probably early this year or this winter.
