We knew the announcement wouldn't be long in coming, but it finally came at the Summer Game Fest: Call of Duty Black Ops 7 is officially coming. It even has some nice surprises in store for its fans! The big announcement was quickly accompanied by clarifications, such as the fact that the game will be getting an "old-gen" release on PS4 and Xbox One. Other details are also starting to be clarified, which should reassure some.
Call of Duty Black Ops 7 will miss out
Each new COD is highly anticipated by fans of the franchise, and Call of Duty Black Ops 7 will be no exception. Still under the leadership of Activision, the project is moving forward at Treyarch's studios. We already know that the game will take place after the events of BO6 but before those of the third installment. But what remains to be confirmed are the features. Some are just starting to become clear!
The latest episode of the official Call of Duty podcast has finally lifted the veil on several leaked elements. However, it seems that the various leakers were mistaken. First, it is now common knowledge that the new game will not include jetpacks. On the other hand, you will have the opportunity to glide in Black Ops 7 via wingsuits, visible in the trailer.
Another point regarding movement was mentioned. Call of Duty Black Ops 7 should ultimately not include wall running. Although dataminers have found traces of this feature, it would ultimately not be implemented. Instead, you should have what would be an evolution of the omni-movement of Black Ops 6.
These details should please a lot of players! In fact, while some fans appreciate them, early fans often pointed out how much they didn't fit with the spirit of Black Ops. Call of Duty BO7 should therefore find its place more easily in the hearts of many this way.
