Summer Game Fest 2025 was packed with announcements, though the biggest surprise was Resident Evil 9 Requiem and its release date. Among the highlights were several indie games, including a spiritual sibling to Sifu: Act of Blood, which promises to be extremely violent and highly choreographic.
Acts of Blood, a new game that should please Sifu fans
Sifu was openly inspired by Asian action cinema in particular, and Act of Blood does the same, but goes even further. We'll play as a certain Hendra, determined to take revenge on a mafia family that killed his entire family. Determined and visibly experienced in combat, we will set out to clean up the city streets with punches, kicks, and all kinds of weapons in fights that promise to be violent and visceral. The trailer also shows us a sequence taking place in a long corridor reminiscent of a similar scene from Sifu, but also the famous cult scene from the film Old Boy. In addition to knowing how to use his fist and bat, Hendra is also a born athlete capable of numerous acrobatics, including parkour with disconcerting ease.
Developed by a single developer, Acts of Blood has been in the pipeline for a while, and is now targeting a 2026 release on PC via Steam. However, there is no proof of release on consoles for the moment. Please note that if you want to get a concrete idea of this Sifu-like, you can already test it thanks to the free demo available on Steam.
