While horror fans will be talking for days about the reveal of Resident Evil 9, another horror game presented at the Summer Game Fest 2025 conference has managed to attract attention: ILL. A title announced a few years ago by the Team Clout studio, which immediately stood out for its realistic dimension with stunning animations. So much so that we wondered if it was all real or if it was just a scam.
ILL puts on a show at Summer Game Fest 2025
With ILL, the developers at Team Clout want to offer a realistic and terrifying experience that will challenge the most seasoned fans of the genre. "Enter a sinister village plunging into madness. There's only one way to uncover the region's mysteries: face your deepest fears in the face of a growing threat against which every bullet is precious." The new gameplay trailer unveiled at Summer Game Fest 2025 is faithful to what we've seen so far, and the result is still impressive.
Whether it's the visuals or the animations, the realism is there. Obviously, what's also striking is the whole gore aspect. Torn flesh, exposed bones, and eviscerated organs, ILL intends to go far in body horror and the unhealthy atmosphere with, among other things, some very creepy deformed babies. But realism will also come from the weapons system, which can visibly jam and whose weight will be felt. We can already see this in the video below. Of course, to honor its survival-horror status, there will be ammo management.
Beyond the graphic slap, ILL made a big announcement in its Summer Game Fest 2025 trailer. Previously planned only for PC, the game will now be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. As for the Nintendo Switch 2, it is absent for the moment.
