Nothing seems to be able to stop Dragon Ball! The cult franchise born from the mind of the late Akira Toriyama is still going strong in 2025, more than 40 years after its first appearance on paper. What's more, it knows how to adapt to all sorts of mediums. The gaming world is proof of this, given the number of iterations still seeing the light of day on all platforms. A new free game is just around the corner. It should appeal to quite a few people!
A free Dragon Ball game for millions of players
The list of Dragon Ball video games continues to grow. Last year, Sparking Zero marked the grand return of the Budokai Tenkaichi formula on PC and consoles. Less than a year later, Bandai Namco is unveiling a new title that it had already mentioned the development of before, and what's more, it will be free! But that's not the only good news.
This new free game is none other than the famous "Project Multi" announced for summer 2024. In the meantime, a definitive title has been found: Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra. The multiplayer spirit is still very present and is even becoming more precise. As the term "squadra suggests, it will offer you 4v4 team battles. We would therefore be moving towards a formula close to the MOBA. Each character on the roster will have their role to play in the battle!
In fact, Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra will reach a wider audience than expected. In addition to the PC and mobile release already revealed, the game will also be coming to console! You'll be able to play it on PS5, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. It's not yet known when the title will be available. That said, you can already try it! A network test phase is underway from June 12th to 16th (7:59 AM at the latest), on all platforms. Visit the different stores to try the adventure.
