While Prime Video subscribers will have to say goodbye to The Boys very soon, the universe continues to be an essential component of the American platform's catalog. Several spin-offs have already been born, including GEN V, which intended to tell the story of how Vought International's superheroes are trained. Alongside Marie Moreau, the first season offered a behind-the-scenes look at the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting. The heroine and her friends had discovered the organization's nasty secrets, and their investigation wasn't exactly to Vought International's liking. At CCXP Mexico, Prime Video shared the first images of the second batch of episodes. The company also took the opportunity to officially announce the release date of this new chapter.
As expected, the series, which takes place in the school environment, will return to service in September. On September 17, 2025, viewers will be able to discover the first episode of this new batch. They will find Jaz Sinclair in the lead role, accompanied by Lizze Broadway, Sean Patrick Thomas, London Thor, and Derek Luh. The three characters seem united at the beginning of the series, ready to stand together to overthrow Godolkin. "We're going to burn this school to the ground", no doubt about the content of their mission. For their part, Sam and Cate seem to have fallen into line and are now acting as henchmen for Vought International.
The finale of The Boys showed them kidnapping Kimoko and Frenchie. Marie's former allies are now her new enemies. Speaking of new enemies, a new character is at the epicenter of the first trailer. Hamish Linklater has been recruited to play Cipher, the new director of the Academy and therefore rival of the GEN V.
Chance Perdomo will not be replaced
Those who paid close attention will have noticed the absence of Chance Perdomo, who played Andre Anderson in the first season. The actor died in March 2024 following a motorcycle accident. The series chose not to attribute his role to another actor and will therefore have to explain his absence through its story. In May 2024, the production teams confided:
The series had promised to pay tribute to the actor and his "legacy in this season".As a reminder, like his colleagues, he appeared imprisoned at the end of the previous season. So, tune in on September 17 to find out how the series is dealing with this sudden departure and whether it's setting the stage for the final season of The Boys.
