While miHoYo's game's cast may be about to lose another of its iconic voices, a series of leaks regarding one of the upcoming updates seemed to indicate that version 5.8 would be less content-rich than its predecessors. But fans can rest assured: this information may not be entirely accurate.
New reassuring leaks for Genshin Impact?
For those who haven't been following the story, for a few days now, rumors have been circulating that, unlike the last few updates, version 5.8 of Genshin Impact would not introduce any new characters to the roster. For fans, this was a big disappointment, especially considering that miHoYo had recently gotten us used to introducing at least one 5-star character with each update. But according to new information shared by a well-known leaker, DK2, a character is actually on the program.
"There is a new character in [version] 5.8 of Genshin Impact. But currently, we have no information about him," he reportedly assured, in comments reported today on Reddit. Should we deduce that the studio has changed its plans? Or that the information previously shared was incorrect? For now, it remains difficult to say. But as always, we obviously invite you to take all this with a grain of salt until miHoYo officially communicates on the subject.
Version 5.7 is approaching
Whatever the case, and especially whoever the character in question is, they will have the difficult task of following Skirk and Dahlia, who have both already been confirmed for version 5.7 of Genshin Impact. As for the exact timing of this next update, it remains to be seen, although speculation is around June 18th. This will be the penultimate update of the Natlan arc, which will then be concluded by the famous version 5.8, which is expected to arrive later this summer.
