GTA 6 seems well on its way to delivering the revolutionary, masterful slap that Rockstar has so well-known for to the entire video game industry and players. This is true both from a visual point of view and in an open world that we expect to be as dense as it is diverse in its activities, as well as in its aspect of serious crime simulation that is as realistic as possible. On this point, the studio could also make a major change to make our criminal life harder.
A crime that won't pay so easily in GTA 6?
A month after the release of the long-awaited second trailer for GTA 6, fans are impatiently chomping at the bit until its release, scheduled for May 26, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series, by scrutinizing the trailer. In this less than three-minute video alone, Rockstar has indeed revealed many more or less obvious clues. Among the more subtle ones, YouTuber Obvious Malcolm has apparently discovered a potentially big change regarding our greatest enemies in Grand Theft Auto: the police.
In the latest GTA 6 trailer, we see around the 47-second mark a scene where Jason walks past an arrest in progress. However, Obvious Malcolm noticed that, a little further down the road, a black car parked on the shoulder wasn't so ordinary. It had "ghost stripes," a means of marking a police vehicle with stripes that are almost imperceptible from a distance unless a light shines on them. This would suggest that GTA 6 could still give the police force new weapons to prevent us from committing crimes in circles.
For example, we could immediately receive a wanted star if we commit a crime, if such an "invisible" police vehicle were nearby. Similarly, the task of escaping pursuit in GTA 6 could prove more difficult if said vehicles are scattered throughout Vice City to track us. This would also contribute to Rockstar's ambition to make its productions as realistic as possible. Naturally, this is only a hypothesis for the moment, however credible it may be. We will have to wait for more official information to support or deny this investigation.
