Harry Potter: Jason Isaacs sends this message to Lucius Malfoy from the HBO series

This Whitsun weekend, HBO announced eight new actors to the cast of Harry Potter, including Jason Isaacs' replacement as Lucius Malfoy. The latter reacted on social media to the fact that Johnny Flynn will be stepping into the shoes of the blond/white-haired Death Eater after him. Discover his message below.

Harry Potter: Jason Isaacs sends this message to Lucius Malfoy from the HBO series

Lucius Malfoy is one of those fictional villains we love to hate. Arrogant, contemptuous, cruel, but also cowardly and opportunistic, the Death Eater lives with his family Pure-Blood in his sinister Manor. He, his wife Narcissa, and their son Draco are supporting characters in Harry Potter who have become fan favorites over the years. Jason Isaacs's icy performance as this evil wizard has a lot to do with it, and unsurprisingly, fans of J.K. Rowling's magical world have high expectations for his successor.

Poll: Will you watch HBO's Harry Potter series?

Announced as Jason Isaacs' replacement, will Johnny Flynn live up to the hype? The old Lucius Malfoy has no doubts about it.

Jason Isaacs "sings" the praises of the future Lucius

A fantastic actor, a lovely man and, irritatingly, a rather brilliant musician too. Couldn't have handed the snake-topped baton on to anyone better. Just please don't make him sing...#HarryPotter #JohnnyFlynn#KillTheElfEarly https://t.co/SOERv7Jmqq

A fantastic actor, a charming man, and, very annoyingly, also a brilliant musician. We couldn't have found a better candidate to take up the torch. But above all, don't blackmail him...

Accompanied by the hashtag #KillTheElfQuickly, a nod to Lucius Malfoy's relationship with Dobby (and generally, any creature deemed inferior by the wizard), this message demonstrates Jason Isaacs's admiration for his colleague. The 42-year-old British actor and singer is a little older than his predecessor when he first appeared in the franchise in 2002 with Chamber of Secrets. The casting of several Harry Potter characters not supposed to appear until season 2, including Cornelius Fudge, seems to demonstrate HBO's desire to build its cast in advance. Stay tuned for future announcements...
