The One Piece universe is full of exceptional fighters, no matter the era. The manga therefore has no shortage of super-powered characters, but some of them have never taken part in a fight, which is frustrating for many fans. Here are six extremely powerful characters from One Piece that we've never seen fight.
#1 Joy Boy
Joy Boy is one of the most important characters in One Piece. Although we know the broad outlines of what he accomplished, we've never had the opportunity to actually see him, let alone in action. Owner of the Hito Hito no Mi: Nika model like Luffy, we can imagine that he was very powerful. However, he was defeated by the Twenty Kings at the conclusion of the Forgotten Century, a battle we would dream of seeing one day.
#2 Shimotsuki Ryuma
So, yes, we got to see Ryuma at work in Eiichiro Oda's Wanted collection and during the Thriller Bark arc, but in the first case, it's hard to consider his face-offs against Cyrano and the dragon as real confrontations, and in the second, he was reincarnated with Brook's shadow and therefore wasn't himself.Ryuma has a reputation that precedes him in Wano, where he is considered the "God of Blades". He is also one of only two known people to have turned his blade black. His power level must therefore be enormous, but we have never had the opportunity to see him in full possession of his powers.
#3 Rock D. Xebec
Captain of the Rocks Pirates - which also included Big Mom, Kaido, and Shiki, to name a few - Xebec was a pirate of colossal power. It took the alliance of Gol D. Roger's crew and the World Government during the God Valley incident to defeat him. Unfortunately, One Piece still remains mysterious about him, as the manga has still not fully shown his appearance or this great battle. There's no doubt that one day Oda will finally show us this legendary event and the power of Xebec.
#4 Sengoku
A former Marine Admiral, Sengoku is naturally a monster of power. In the past, he notably fought alongside Garp to defeat Shiki, a formidable pirate. In the present, he has not been outdone, especially at Marineford. However, we still haven't seen this first fight, and during the battle, he only showed a glimpse of his strength. Today, Sengoku is quite old and seems far from his former greatness. Oda could always place him at the center of a major confrontation, but if he must be seen fighting, it will probably be in a flashback.
#5 Monkey D. Dragon
Luffy's father and leader of the revolutionary army, Dragon occupies a central place in the One Piece universe. Yet, he remains very discreet on the battlefield. He nevertheless remains "the most wanted man in the world" for the World Government, which speaks to the magnitude of the threat he represents. There's no doubt we'll see him in action one day, and he'll shock everyone.
#6 Shanks
Shanks's case is quite unusual. We know he's powerful because he's proven it. However, each time it was only briefly. Shanks has never engaged in a real fight, or rather, we've never seen him do it. For example, we know he's faced Blackbeard and has faced Mihawk numerous times, but these fights have never been shown. It's terribly frustrating, but given his importance and recent events, he's likely to be in action very soon (much more so than against Eustass Kid, of course).
