The wizarding world continues to dazzle you. After the resounding success of the first installment, "Hogwarts Legacy 2" is actively in development at Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. Details about this sequel are still very vague. However, several clues suggest what form it could take. Expect potentially an even more magical adventure.
Hogwarts Legacy 2 really wants to bewitch you
In 2023, the first Hogwarts Legacy became the biggest hit of the year. This was proof, if any were needed, of the inertia that the Harry Potter franchise can still demonstrate. Especially since players have been waiting a long time for a new game that lives up to its promise. However, by choosing a new adventure, detached from J. K. Rowling's novels, Avalanche Software has hit the nail on the head!
Within the parent company, Warner Bros, it didn't take long for a sequel to be put into production. Still in production (and more likely pre-production, one should say), this second installment seems to be thinking bigger than the first. At least, that's what a job offer for a screenwriter suggests. Faithfulness to the universe, adaptation of the story over the course of development... there's plenty to reassure fans!
The job description actually mentions the "action RPG Hogwarts Legacy" and invites you to join the team to create "the sequel." This is why a "deep knowledge of the wizarding world" is required for this position. But beyond the universe, candidates are expected to be able to "develop complex and compelling narratives that integrate with the world and the gameplay experience." They must also demonstrate significant experience with "branching storylines and dialogue." The first game already featured some variations in the questline based on your choices. However, Hogwarts Legacy 2 could take this even further, promising an even more complex story. This scriptwriter job description could even echo the one published a little earlier, reporting that there will be multiplayer elements. This would fit well with the idea of branching storylines. All the more so, let us remember, as Warner was looking to develop its range of free-to-play games.
