With the arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2 last week, Hogwarts Legacy made a notable comeback in the news. It must be said that the new version of the game, now available on Nintendo's new machine, has something to entice. Between improved graphics and better game optimization, exploring Hogwarts and its surroundings in the portable version has never been so enjoyable. However, Avalanche Software hasn't forgotten its other communities either, and it's now PC players' turn to get a new update.
A new patch for the PC version of Hogwarts Legacy
Deployed late yesterday, this patch, which brings Hogwarts Legacy to version 1420267, is primarily aimed at Creator Kit users. "This patch provides the necessary updates for the most recent version of the Creator's Kit," the developers say, adding that the patch also includes a change to the default display options to prevent low-latency settings from being applied to older, unsupported maps.
As for the Creator's Kit itself, which now enters version 1404437, it now offers the Hogwarts Legacy modding community new modding options, various improvements, and finally a series of bug fixes. Here are the full patch notes:

- Updated the localization text editor dialog to support creating text in multiple languages, including the current "default" language
- Added support for adding and editing spell and spell talent videos, as well as spell minigames
- Added support for creating new SQL tabs from the database text entry tool
- Removed excess plugins to reduce the kit size
- Added new broomstick, costume, and character mod templates gameplay
- Added a "Reset Mod Link" command to the kit upon download to allow for easier creation of custom templates
- Added a dropdown menu for Create Mod, Create Template, and Select Active Mod
- Created a new section for Mod-specific functions in the Hogwarts Legacy toolbar and File menu
- Disabled minidumps on Creator Kit failures that caused large history files to accumulate
- Added the ability to set custom loot in containers and not rely on random spawning
- Fixed an issue where the download command in the mod download window could not be interacted with when restarting the Creator Kit for the first time
We're waiting for the sequel
While we're not getting the additional content that was apparently planned for the title a few months ago, it's at least nice to see Avalanche Software continue to invest in Hogwarts Legacy players, regardless of the versions involved. Now, we're still eagerly awaiting more information about the game's sequel, which, according to Warner Bros., should have ties to the upcoming new Harry Potter series from HBO.
