HONOR 400: the new AI-powered smartphone is €1 at SFR!

The HONOR 400, launched in May 2025, confirms the rise of the Chinese brand on the French market. With sales up 75% over its predecessor, it has established itself as a benchmark in the mid-range segment, driven by a clever mix of AI-boosted mobile photography, balanced performance, and solid battery life.

And good news for those still hesitating: the smartphone is now available for just €1 at SFR, with the 350 GB plan and a 24-month commitment (after a deferred repayment of €40). A good way to get a modern model without breaking the bank.

Choosing the HONOR 400 is all the more relevant as the brand continues to soar. According to Counterpoint Research, HONOR is now the fourth largest smartphone manufacturer in Europe. But how is this HONOR 400 really worth on a daily basis? Here's what it's got.

A smartphone resolutely focused on AI

The HONOR 400 focuses primarily on its artificial intelligence features to appeal to fans of mobile creation. Its MagicOS 9.0 interface, based on Android 15, integrates a series of advanced AI tools: image to video transformation (“Image to Video”), reflection removal, intelligent clipping (“AI Cutout”), image extension, deepfake detection during video calls… All of this is assisted by Gemini, Google’s AI assistant, which allows you to write, summarize or organize content on the fly.

AI also comes into play on the photo side, with a 200 MP main sensor capable of producing sharp and detailed shots in various lighting conditions, which the AI then optimizes by correcting reflections, improving portraits or generating realistic depth effects. On the front, a 50 MP camera ensures accurate selfies, enhanced by a convincing portrait mode — right down to the Harcourt filter, which recreates the aesthetics of the eponymous Parisian studio. 4K video recording at 30 fps is also on the program, with effective stabilization.

Solid performance and a bright screen

Powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, the HONOR 400 ensures a smooth experience in most uses, even on demanding games. Only intensive multitaskers will notice some occasional slowdowns. In return, the whole thing remains well optimized for everyday tasks and AI functions.

The 6.55-inch AMOLED screen (2736 x 1264 px, 460 ppi) stands out with its maximum brightness of 5000 nits (in optimized mode), its refresh rate of 120 Hz and its coverage of 1.07 billion colors. The thin borders, the central punch for the selfie camera and the occupancy rate of more than 90% reinforce the perceived quality of the whole. Once calibrated in “Natural Colors” mode, the screen displays a rendering close to professional standards.

A foolproof battery life

With a 5300 mAh battery based on silicon-carbon technology, the HONOR 400 displays remarkable endurance. It lasted more than 25 hours on the viSer test protocol, which is the assurance of two days of unrestricted use. 66W wired fast charging allows you to regain 100% battery life in less than an hour (unit sold separately), and 5W reverse charging allows you to power accessories.

The smartphone complements this battery life with good robustness: IP65 certification against dust and splashes, screen protected against scratches, and six years of software and security updates announced. In terms of connectivity, we find 5G (dual SIM or eSIM), Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC, but no headphone jack.

In short, the HONOR 400 combines AI photography, a bright screen, balanced performance, and high-level battery life. Offered for just €1 with the 350 GB plan at SFR, it is one of the best value options available for those looking to equip themselves intelligently without blowing their budget.
