Hooked, French plant-based meat launches its new range

Hooked, French plant-based meat launches its new range

In the market for plant-based meat alternatives, Accro continues its journey. The French brand presented its new product range a few days ago, with a clear summer positioning to prepare for the arrival of warmer weather.

Sausages, merguez sausages, chicken, and appetizers

Marketed for a few years, the young company made a name for itself thanks to its 100% plant-based minced steaks, nuggets, and meatballs, which we had the opportunity to test. After a first wave of products, a new range based on sausages, strips of imitation chicken, and breaded escalopes was launched. For this summer, Accro is taking care of the aperitif, with croquettes and charcuterie-style slices. All 100% plant-based, of course.

Equipped with our best fork, we had the opportunity to test the brand's new range in real-life conditions. And we have to admit: Accro has come a long way since its launch. In terms of both taste and texture, the start-up creates a faithful and quite impressive imitation of the meat products it aims to replace. The croquettas, in particular, have made a name for themselves on our summer tables. The chewiness and tenderness of the fibers in particular provide a very convincing sensation, which only its Swiss competitor Planted had managed to bring us at the time.

Made in France, and soy-free

Aside from the taste experience, the Accro brand also stands out for its positioning against the grain of current markets. The French manufacturer has in fact chosen to locate its entire production chain in the north of France, from the production of raw materials to their assembly. Furthermore, he has always refused to use soy fibers, considered too opaque in terms of health, to focus on more reliable plants, produced in large quantities in France: peas, wheat, and sometimes beans.

All of the brand's products are also guaranteed Nutriscore A or B, GMO-free, without artificial flavors or colors.

Offered at prices broadly similar to those of their meat equivalents, which have been hit hard by price increases and widespread inflation, the new Accro range is now available in several major retailers, such as Carrefour, Monoprix, Auchan, Leclerc, Casino, as well as in several brands specializing in organic and plant-based alternatives. More and more restaurants are also offering the brand's products as plant-based alternatives to their classic menu.
