Marvel Ironheart series revealed in video, Iron Man's heir faces The Hood

There will soon be newcomers to the Marvel stable. And not just anyone, since one of them will have the difficult task of bridging the gap between two iconic superheroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU): Iron Man and Black Panther. The former died on screen in Avengers: End Game, while the latter saw its actor Chadwick Boseman leave us prematurely due to an illness. The heroine of Ironheart, since that's who it's about, will therefore have a lot to do.

She's not a complete unknown: she was introduced in the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Originally, Riri Williams is a particularly talented engineer. She develops a suit of armor very much inspired by that of Tony Stark, an AI version of which acts as a mentor for the young woman. The Disney+ series takes a different direction. Williams, employed at MIT, steals parts to complete her machine, which earns her a dismissal. She was then approached by Parker Robbins, aka The Hood, to continue the project.

The first trailer for Ironheart already shows us that The Hood's gang is clearly criminal. In the discussion scene visible at the end of this article, Williams tells Parker that she doesn't consider herself a "villain." Parker replies that she commits illegal acts with her gang to achieve her goals. The series will therefore focus on the moral questioning of its main character. Barring any big surprises, she should end up choosing the path of justice.

If you're eager to find out what this new Marvel series is worth, remember that you won't have long to wait. Ironheart will be broadcast on Disney+ starting June 25, 2025. Chronologically, it comes after Black Panther and Wakanda Forever. If you need more clarity, don't hesitate to consult our guide to know in which order to watch the Marvel movies.
