Meta vs. Apple: The battle to buy Perplexity is on

Major American tech companies are ready to invest massively in artificial intelligence to avoid missing out, starting with Meta and its ambition to invest $65 billion in AI.

And while Mark Zuckerberg's company announced the acquisition of Scale AI just a few days ago, Perplexity could well be in the sights of the company's next acquisitions. The only downside is that Apple also seems interested in this acquisition.

While the outcome is still uncertain for Apple and Meta, we already know that Perplexity will be the big winner of this lucrative operation...

A failed first takeover bid for Meta... for now?

As confirmed in recent days in a CNBC article, Meta has reportedly already made an offer to buy Perplexity very recently, before finally turning to Scale AI.

From there to seeing the acquisition of Scale AI for $14.3 billion, there is only one step, and if anonymous sources claim that The deal would not have been concluded following a decision by Perplexity, this shows that the company's teams are not totally disinterested.

Furthermore, according to the latest information from The Verge, Meta also has other companies in which it would like to invest, in addition to talent from competitors like OpenAI that it would try to poach for $100 million per employee.

Although Meta's development strategy is very aggressive in an attempt to dominate the world of AI, Apple has opted for another, more discreet strategy, but one that could prove to be a winner in the long term...
