It's now been two days since fans of the red brand had their new console in their hands. More elegant, better designed, but above all more powerful, the Nintendo Switch 2 has everything it needs to be a phenomenal success like its big sister. The biggest criticism currently being leveled at it: its too timid launch lineup, which relies mainly on Mario Kart World, a few updates, and ports. The Summer Game Fest 2025 and its opening conference were therefore an opportunity to shed light on the upcoming new features to come in the coming months. As every year, the Summer Game Fest is the scene of many diverse and varied announcements. Whether you're an Xbox, PlayStation, PC, or Nintendo gamer, whether you swear by AAA or independent titles, single-player or multiplayer games, there's always something for everyone. This year, it was also and above all to get a fresh look at the upcoming new releases that will keep Nintendo Switch 2 players busy, those who have to make do with a handful of titles or replay their favorites in better conditions.
There were a few new games announced. Starting with one of the surprises that many were waiting for: Scott Pilgrim EX will officially return with a new episode. For those looking for family games, LEGO has thought of you with two new ones inspired by very popular mainstays in their genres. On the one hand, the colored bricks will adapt to the cooperative formula of Split Fiction and It Takes Two. On the other hand, it's Mario Party that it draws inspiration from with a party game.
We also had confirmation of the arrival of Nintendo Switch 2 versions like the first of the name, which will be available on the next-gen console via backward compatibility. We were treated to some great gems in the making from the independent scene like Mio, the metroidvania from Focus Home Interactive, or the FPS MOUSE: P.I. For Hire! like the very first Mickey.
