Nintendo Switch 2: One of the biggest releases of the year is delayed

Available since June 5, the Nintendo Switch 2 was able to count on around twenty games to accompany its launch, including its flagship exclusive Mario Kart World. Over the coming months, this list will continue to grow, including Donkey Kong Bananza, Metroid Prime 4, and Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition. Speaking of which, another major third-party game has confirmed its arrival on the console, but not on the same day as its release on other platforms.

Opening of the Ark delayed on Nintendo Switch 2

Thanks to its more robust technical specifications than its illustrious big sister, the Nintendo Switch 2 is attracting third-party studios, eager to port their latest games to the Big N machine and therefore reach a wider audience. We can already see this with the console's launch line-up, which includes numerous third-party titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Civilization 7, Hogwarts Legacy and a dozen others.

This trend should continue in the coming months for the Nintendo Switch 2. In this regard, a major third-party game recently released a wealth of information ahead of its release on September 12, 2025: Borderlands 4. In addition to the rather reassuring news of a price of 69.99 euros for its basic edition, with other more expensive editions announced, Gearbox and 2K have specified that it will only be released on that date on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. The FAQ on the official website of the license specifies that a Nintendo Switch 2 version is indeed planned, but that it will arrive "later in 2025".

That being said, the wait for users of the Big N console will be shorter than for the first Switch version called Borderlands 3, released in 2023, four years after its initial release. In addition, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Borderlands 4 should perform better technically, and even take advantage of using the Joy-Con as a mouse to reproduce the sensations of an FPS on PC. A little patience will be required, however, to open the Vault in hybrid mode, Nintendo style.
