After the PC port of the original Red Dead Redemption and an enhanced version of GTA 5 on the same platform, rumors are swirling that Red Dead Redemption 2 could be the next to return, potentially in the form of a current-gen version or a remaster. Since then, Rob Wiethoff, who plays John Marston, has added his own piece to the story, stating that an imminent announcement would arrive later this week. While we wait to see if this is confirmed or not, it's Roger Clark's turn, who plays Arthur Morgan, the main protagonist of the second installment, to give his own teaser, joined by Roshir Dahal, the voice of Charlie in the same game.
The casting of Red Dead Redemption 2 prepares us for the sequel
Originally released in 2018 on PS4 and Xbox One, Red Dead Redemption 2 had the effect of a bomb. Rockstar Games once again spoiled us with a game of excessive ambition and crazy realism, all of which ran impressively on previous generation consoles. It was then ported to PC in 2019. Six years later and while we wait for GTA 6, everything suggests that the studio's previous masterpiece will soon be getting a next-gen version, whether it's a "new-gen patch" or a remaster on PS5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2.
If we are to believe several members of the game's cast, we should in any case be entitled to an imminent announcement around Red Dead Redemption 2. After the actor who played John Marston, those who played Arthur and Morgan and Charlie also teased that something is in the works. In the case of Roger Clark, who plays Arthur Morgan in the second installment, this took the form of a response to a fan on X.com, when the latter asked him if he knew anything about said imminent announcement, with an unequivocal "Yes" and a GIF of a dog with a knowing smile.
So we'll have to keep an eye on the nearest telegram station to see what Rockstar has in store for Red Dead Redemption 2. It certainly seems that the game's cast is directly involved, which could mean the addition of new scenes and lines of dialogue, and therefore a likely remaster with new bonus content. Unless it's a completely different project. We'll probably hear the verdict in the coming days.
