In the latest chapters of One Piece, Elbaf Island finds itself in an increasingly chaotic situation. A major battle is looming, but one question remains: how will Luffy put an end to it? According to one theory, the answer has already been given.
One Piece: A Major Battle Is Brewing
Possessing Gunko's body, Imu is currently rampaging through Elbaf Island. Worse still, he's doing so using its own inhabitants. He has built up a growing army of giants, which he transforms into demons, "turning" them like pawns in a game of Go. While the villainous side is already in place, the good guys' side should soon be entering the battlefield.
As the end of Chapter 1151 teases, Luffy and his teammates are ready to return to the world of the sun. The long-awaited confrontation is therefore about to take place, and it promises to be particularly rich in emotions. To defeat Imu, it is possible that important characters will lose their lives, like Dorry and Brogy, or even Loki in a heroic sacrifice. However, the leader of the World Government will sooner or later have to face Luffy. How will the hero achieve victory? Well, we might already know.
Luffy will defeat Imu with the Domi Reversi
If Imu managed to make the giants his servants, it's thanks to the Domi Reversi. It's a black magic spell from a strange grimoire that allows its user to transform anyone into a demon. We've seen that it's an extremely powerful spell, which will be difficult to counter. Yet, Luffy might have a way to achieve this, without having to look far.
One of Luffy's greatest strengths lies in his ability to rally others to his cause. This is how he built a crew, and then his fleet. This ability to inspire and unite might well be his greatest power, and he could use it on Elbaf thanks to the Hito Hito no Mi. Since Nika is a liberator, it wouldn't be surprising if Luffy freed the giants from Imu's grasp. Better yet, he could, like the Domi Reversi, transmit powers to his allies. Gear 5, with its still unclear and potentially unlimited capabilities, could allow him to accomplish this feat. Will this be enough to secure his victory? Perhaps.
At the time, Joy Boy lost to Imu despite having a larger fleet. There's no guarantee that Luffy won't suffer the same fate. However, it's still unknown if Imu is currently at his full potential by controlling Gunko. Some theories suggest that he needs a vessel to influence the world. Gunko is said to be a former vessel, which would imply that Imu cannot deploy his full power. These are, for now, only hypotheses, but we'll surely know more very soon.
