One Piece: A Final Battle Looming

Throughout the manga, Oda has sown the seeds of a huge final battle. This is particularly visible among our heroes. The Straw Hat crew has continued to grow and even has a real fleet. To this could even be added some enemies ready to ally with Luffy in a common interest to face formidable adversaries.

In his quest for One Piece, Luffy has faced many powerful enemies: Crocodile, Rob Lucci, Kaido... But one stands out from the rest: Blackbeard. Luffy's alter ego, and endowed with phenomenal strength, he is the ideal final antagonist. However, another character could claim this role and he has a very close bond with the hero. Indeed, Shanks is also expected to be a perfect enemy to conclude the manga, thus closing the circle. It's a rather enticing program, however, another hero could well stir up trouble, and in an unexpected way.

Among the countless villains, the World Government is undoubtedly the most dangerous and the one Luffy will probably have to fight against. This seems logical, since Imu is his natural enemy. Oda seems to have gone in this direction, with the last few chapters placing the character at the center of the conflicts. However, the mangaka has introduced a little twist that could change everything.

At the end of chapter 1149 and in 1150, we discover that Imu is controlling Gunko. This immediately sparked theories suggesting that the villain could be possessing the bodies of certain princesses to exert his influence over the world. Another potential example of this would be Lillie, the queen of the Kingdom of Alabasta and founder of the World Government, who mysteriously disappeared. Some fans believe that Imu may have taken possession of her body, although this remains to be confirmed. What is certain, however, is that the connection between Imu and the Nefertari family runs deep. Imu covets Vivi. Why? The mystery remains. However, one can imagine that the sovereign is seeking to possess her body, as the physical forms of Lillie and Gunko are probably too old. If this theory is confirmed, the honorary member of the Mugiwara could be forced to face her companions in a fight as heartbreaking as it is moving, inevitably recalling the exchanges between Luffy and Vivi in Alabasta.
