OnePlus hits hard before summer: here's what we (already) know about the Nord 5

At OnePlus, we're smart guys. To get things going before the annual update of its Nord range, dedicated to entry-level and mid-range products, the brand is making a first announcement to present the names of the products and some features, before the real announcement which will take place on July 8, 2025 (if you have a headache, you're not alone).

Great performances in perspective

So what products are we talking about? The most important one is called OnePlus Nord 5. Traditionally, the Nord range strives to reconnect with what is at the heart of the OnePlus concept: a reasonable price for a phone without too many major concessions.

With this in mind, the OnePlus Nord 5 will therefore be equipped with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, the brand announces. This is a chip that could be described as sub-premium and should offer serious performance (support for Ray Tracing, an AnTuTu score above 1.5 million) for a smartphone at a hopefully reasonable price. The Nord 5 will also be equipped with LPDDR5X RAM and a beefy 7300 mm² vapor chamber, equivalent to that of the very premium (and inevitably expensive) OnePlus 13.

A OnePlus Nord CE5 should also come out of the woodwork in July, but we only know its name for the moment.

Headphones, tablets and watches, the OnePlus ecosystem is expanding

Aside from this flagship product, OnePlus is also unveiling new earphones, the OnePlus Buds 4 supporting the LHDC 5.0 codec and 3D audio, all with a “dual speaker design” and a latency of 47 ms.

The Chinese brand also offers an entry-level tablet to accompany the OnePlus Pad 3. Its name: OnePlus Pad Lite. For the moment, we have virtually no information about it, except that it should be cheaper than its big sister, sold for 600 euros.

The excellent OnePlus Watch 3, made famous by a shell displaying "meda in China", will also be entitled to a 43 mm version, a little smaller than the basic 46.6 mm model.
