OnePlus unveils its new mid-range tablet, the OnePlus 3. Selling for €599, it sits roughly halfway between the cheapest tablets, priced at €350 or €400, and the very high-end ones that can cost up to €900 or €1,000.
At this price, OnePlus couldn't decently afford an OLED screen and must logically fall back on an LCD screen, which we're promised will be rather high-quality. It will be a 13.2-inch panel with a somewhat square 7:5 ratio, for a very high definition of 3392 x 2400, for a resolution of 315 ppi, which is a guarantee of not seeing the pixels. The refresh rate is flirtatious enough to go up to 144 Hz, even though most applications will only go up to 120 Hz. The average brightness is measured at 600 nits, which is very good for a tablet in this price range.
A large battery, 80 W fast charging and WiFi 7
Especially since, despite its price, the OnePlus Pad 3 is once again based on the most powerful chip on the market, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The brand has made the effort to integrate a large vapor chamber of 34857 mm² to help with cooling. The chip is powered by a large 12140 mAh battery. For comparison, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE+, its main Android competitor, is only 10,090 mAh. In addition, the OnePlus benefits from a proprietary, but fast, 80W charge.
To complete the picture, the Chinese tablet has 8 speakers, a USB 2.2 Gen 1 port, and supports WiFi 7. In short, if we forget the lack of OLED technology, the OnePlus Pad 3 seems to tick many boxes on paper. We will tell you more in our full review, of course.
