Serial Crashes on YouTube: How to Fix the iOS and Android App?

Reports have been multiplying since yesterday: the YouTube mobile app is experiencing minor stability issues. The app is unresponsive or poorly responsive when you touch the interface, or it simply crashes profusely, which is not the experience YouTube intended. The platform was quick to react, publishing a support note for iOS and Android users.

Android is doing better than iOS

The aim was to offer an initial fix to restore normal behavior: delete the application, restart the smartphone, then download and install the app again. A somewhat painful exercise that is no longer necessary... on Android, at least.

Android smartphone users can simply download the latest update of the app from the Play Store, without having to delete it first. This new version includes the fix that squares the app. However, on iOS you'll still have to delete the YouTube app (hold your finger on the icon until the context menu appears), then reinstall it from the App Store.

A blessing in disguise: at least you don't have to restart your iPhone, and it's worth it to avoid any inconvenience while watching a video.
