SFR affected by a breakdown on mobile networks

Unable to make calls or send text messages: Since late Monday morning, June 16, SFR, the country's second-largest telecoms operator, has been experiencing an outage across France. On social media, users are complaining that they can no longer make or receive calls. Some report being unable to send text messages or connect to 4G or 5G.

A general outage?

The problem does not appear to be widespread, however: as RedbySFR customers, we were personally able to use our smartphones normally this Monday early afternoon. Downdetector, which allows Internet users to report outage services, nevertheless shows a spike beginning in the late morning. On this specialized site, users from the following cities have reported: Paris, Nantes, Lille, Lyon, Metz, Rennes, Strasbourg, Bordeaux, Toulouse and Montpellier.

The outage could therefore be limited to certain regions or urban areas. On the social network X, SFR customer service confirmed to a user complaining of a completely unavailable mobile network (calls, SMS, data) and a fiber network no longer functioning, that a "technical incident is currently impacting our network. Our technical teams are fully mobilized to restore the situation." Contacted by 01net.com, SFR confirmed the "incident on (its) network", whose "impact (is) random". No further details were given.
