Notice to SFR subscribers: if you are unable to send text messages, make phone calls, or surf the Internet, this is normal. All of the operator's networks have been suffering from a major outage since Monday midday.
If you are unable to send text messages, make phone calls, or surf the Internet via the SFR network, this is “normal.” Indeed, the operator's mobile and landline networks have been suffering from a major outage since Monday noon.
As can be seen on DownDetector, a site specializing in tracking outages of the main services, reports skyrocketed around lunchtime. At the time of writing, there were no fewer than 10,865 complaints on the portal.
Major outage on all SFR networks
Unsurprisingly, many customers have begun to express their dissatisfaction on social media and call out the operator with the red square: “Total telephone and internet network outage in Amiens. What's going on @SFR?,” writes one user. “On the other hand, how is it that in 2025, operators are unable to send an emergency SMS or email to warn of the outage and provide some information?”, points out another subscriber.
From what we know, the outage is national in scope. The DownDetector map confirms this, with reports concentrated in all major French cities (Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Lille, Rennes, etc.). An hour ago, the official SFR Business account took to X to clarify the situation for customers: “We inform you that a technical incident is currently impacting our network. Our technical teams are fully mobilized to restore the situation. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
The icing on the cake is that SFR or Red by SFR subscribers are not the only ones affected by this outage. This is also the case for La Poste Mobile and Prixtel customers, two mobile operators that use the SFR network to offer their services. There are also numerous reports on DownDetector. For the moment, it is unclear when services will return to normal... and whether SFR plans to compensate customers. We will update this article as soon as we know more about these issues.
