The Witcher 3: A huge new free game is available, fans will love it

While The Witcher 4 is in full development at CD Projekt RED, its recently 10-year-old masterpiece, The Witcher 3, is still far from retired. According to a recent leak, it should indeed receive official additional content to catch up with the upcoming sequel. At the same time, modders are having a field day filling the title with all kinds of creations. The one we're interested in here, now available for free after a long period of work, is among the most ambitious to date.

A Wish Granted in The Witcher 3

From the start, The Witcher games have chosen to tell a story set after the events of Andrzej Sapkowski's books from which they draw inspiration. The latest true adaptation of these comes to us from Netflix, with a result that is... more or less convincing. Thanks to the initiative of a modder on The Witcher 3, it is now possible to marry the best of both worlds, at least in part.

Named The Last Wish Project, it is certainly one of the most ambitious mods ever created for The Witcher 3. As its name suggests, it offers to play the very first book of the literary saga, The Last Wish. For now, only the first chapter entitled "The Lesser Evil", which features Geralt and Renfri in the famous village of Blaviken, is playable, and for free.

As you can see, this huge project will take a little time before it becomes fully playable in The Witcher 3. In the meantime, you can try out the first chapter and keep up to date with its progress via the mod's official website, cited in the source below. As a concrete illustration of what The Last Wish Project is worth, you can see a comprehensive video of it via a video by xLetalis, also available below.
