While some gamers were able to pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2 before its release, many consumers are choosing to buy it from retailers (here's where to find it at the best price). Internet users shared their outrage on social media upon discovering that some stores are promoting the console with AI-generated visuals...
The Switch 2, a success for Nintendo
Nintendo is having no trouble selling its new console, despite a game offering deemed too low and a very high price. Since June 5th, Switch fans can now play on their brand new machine, and their enthusiasm for this highly anticipated product is undeniable. Gamers who didn't have the opportunity to pre-order the Switch 2 before its release are nowsearching for their console on the shelves of retailers, including Fnac. Not only is this approach inconsistent with the ease with which you can retrieve visuals of these games on the Internet (or from the brand), but this also poses copyright issues. Indeed, the official visuals are provided by Nintendo, and the use of AI-generated visuals could expose Fnac to legal claims from rights holders. These visuals may also be considered by the Japanese company as damaging their brand image.
This could make the image of a meme on the Switch 2...
