Urssaf: Is a €930 payment really arriving in your account? Everything you need to know about this news that's setting the web ablaze

Scams targeting French organizations are becoming increasingly common on the web. At the end of 2024, the French health insurance system was the target of a phishing campaign. Two and a half years earlier, Urssaf (French social security agency) had also been the victim of a malicious campaign. This time, the Union for the Recovery of Social Security and Family Allowance Contributions (Urssaf) is calling for vigilance among French self-employed people from its official website.

Urssaf is alerting you to the publication of information stating the existence of “Urssaf assistance” of €930 paid to self-employed people by our services. This is false information. No assistance of this type is offered by Urssaf. To find out what assistance you are eligible for, visit our official website.”

Urssaf is calling for caution due to a supposed payment of €930

After doing a brief online search, we found an article (dated April 30, 2025) that does indeed mention the supposed payment of €930 if self-employed people meet a condition. According to the article in question, to obtain this 'Urssaf aid', it would be enough to add the initials "EI" to each administrative document of the self-employed person.

Thanks to this approach, the entrepreneur would thus benefit from the sum of 930 euros from Urssaf which, in reality, will never be paid. On the other hand, the mention "EI" (for individual entrepreneur) does indeed exist and has been mandatory since May 2022.

Following the spread of the false news on the Web, user accounts from social networks such as Facebook, Pinterest and TikTok did not hesitate to relay this false information a few weeks later. A TikTok video that shared the fake news has been viewed more than 30,000 times by internet users.

Finally, if you have any doubts, you can contact Urssaf directly, by phone or via the secure messaging service on the website https://autoentrepreneur.urssaf.fr/services/. An advisor will then be able to answer all your questions and inform you about the assistance available to you.
