A few days ago, Microsoft held a highly anticipated Xbox Showcase, revealing a host of major titles and confirming a particularly busy 2025 for gamers. While several announcements focused on projects planned for 2026, the conference also confirmed major releases in the coming months.
Now that the giant GTA 6 has secured an availability date for next year, it's easier for publishers to offer specific dates for all their current games. Here's what's coming to Xbox (and other platforms in some cases).
- Final Fantasy XVI – available now on Xbox
-
Grounded 2 – July 29, 2025
-
Gears of War Reloaded – August 26, 2025
- Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle – Order of the Giants DLC – September 4, 2025

2025 is a busy year on Xbox
You won't have to wait long to discover most of these games. Some don't have a specific date but a release window no later than this winter, while others will mark their arrival as early as this summer. On the studio side, some are clearly not idle, and this is the case with Obsidian.
The teams are preparing to launch three games this year alone, which is a first for the studio. Already recognized for its mastery of narrative RPGs, it is expanding its influence with productions that are both diverse and ambitious. They are responsible for the release of Grounded 2, The Outer Worlds 2 and Avowed, which has been available for a few months on Xbox and PC.
At Microsoft, we obviously don't miss annual clichés such as Call of Duty. The next Black Ops 7 showed itself in a very mysterious teaser, featuring actor Milo Ventimiglia. As for indie games, October will be the busiest month, as is customary in the video game industry. Many other titles are expected by next year. The complete list with the corresponding trailers can be found in our main article on the Xbox Games Showcase, available here.
