DJI's super-powerful electric bike motor will finally be equipping a bike sold in France. Unveiled last summer, the Avinox caused a sensation not only because of its technical specifications but also with all the specialists who were able to try it. The only problem, at least until now: neither of the two manufacturers who have or will integrate the DJI motor had planned to launch their bike in France. Good news: the situation has just changed and the French public will also have access to this so-called revolutionary motor.
It is the young brand Amflow, the same one that first equipped the DJI motor, which has decided to launch its two electric mountain bike models on the French market. The Amflow PL Carbon and the Amflow PL Carbon Pro will therefore arrive in France in the next few hours at the respective prices of 6,499 euros and 9,999 euros. Of course, these are high-end mountain bikes in both cases and access to the DJI motor will therefore not be available to all enthusiasts, but it is a first that could spawn newcomers. Indeed, after Amflow, it is the Canadian brand Forbidden, also ultra-specialized in mountain bikes, who has fallen for the Avinox and will integrate it into its first electric model. It's a safe bet that these two manufacturers will soon be joined by others, especially given the very positive feedback from the first Avinox testers.
2.5 kg of raw power
As a reminder, the DJI motor displays an explosive torque of 120 Nm and up to 850 W of peak power, all in a compact module of only 2.52 kg. Of course, in addition to the motor unit, the Avinox system also includes a fairly massive 800 Wh battery and a display, but more than the power, it is the software management of the assistance that wowed the first Avinox testers.
The Amflow PL Carbon and the Amflow PL Carbon Pro are available for sale from January 7 in France. For our part, we are obviously eager to test them and get a first glimpse of this engine that could well shake up the market in the coming years.
