Nintendo Direct: 5 advertisements to remember from the Partner Showcase

The Nintendo Switch has not said its last word and intends to take advantage of a new year full of releases. After the launch of Mario & Donkey Kong and the upcoming arrival of Princess Peach: Showtime, it is the turn of third-party publishers to unveil their upcoming releases for the year 2024. To better highlight these equally enticing productions, the Kyoto firm has just organized the broadcast of a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. In the absence of a live presentation, the trailer summary was shared directly on the manufacturer's official YouTube channel.

With nearly 25 minutes of announcements of all kinds, Switch players are spoiled with a slew of new titles that should not be missed. Independent games, remasters, expected gems and new surprises were all on the agenda for this Nintendo Direct: something to satisfy every type of gamer. Some major licenses such as Monster Hunter Stories, Super Monkey Ball, Shin Megami Tensei and Star Wars made an appearance during the presentation. To make sure you don't miss anything, the Partner Showcase is available in its entirety on YouTube. But for those who don't have the time or the courage to catch up on this long video, here are the five most notable announcements that will not fail to delight gamers.

Grounded

At the beginning of the year, Microsoft promised to export its most popular exclusives to competing consoles and it is now done. The excellent survival game between friends Grounded will be coming to Nintendo's hybrid console on April 16. Despite a significant downgrade compared to the Xbox versions of the title, the adventure promises to be just as charming and immersive. Thanks to the portability of the Switch, players will now be able to explore the virtual garden of Grounded... directly from their own garden.

Epic Mickey: Rebrushed

The cult platformer of the Nintendo Wii is finally back in a more than deserved remaster. Equipped with his magic paintbrush, Mickey will have to save the forgotten characters and memories of the Disney universe. Once transported to this strange dimension, the mascot of the firm with the big ears will meet Oswald, his predecessor who did not meet with the same success. Disney fans and platform game aficionados will find their happiness in this critically acclaimed video game adventure. Epic Mickey: Rebrushed will be released on Nintendo Switch in 2024 at a date yet unknown.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time

The sequel to the excellent life simulator from Level 5 studio finally has a release date. After being pushed back during a previous live presentation, Fantasy Life i now confirms its launch on Nintendo Switch on October 10th. As a reminder, the studio justified the game's delay for "strategic reasons", suggesting an imminent launch of the console that will follow the Switch. Is an arrival at the end of the year still possible despite recent rumors? To be continued...

Penny's Big Breakaway

The developers of Sonic Mania are finally back, but with a new license this time. Presented during a previous Nintendo Direct, Penny’s Big Breakaway was announced as a dynamic platform game with a charming artistic direction, to say the least. Following several appearances in the presentations of the Kyoto firm, this new video game gem gives us a nice surprise. Penny’s Big Breakaway reveals its release date… instantly. The title is officially available today on Switch, PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

Endless Ocean Luminous

True to form, Nintendo reserved one last unexpected announcement to slip in at the end of the presentation. For the first time in two installments released on Wii, the Endless Ocean franchise is back in a new episode. This scuba diving simulation invites players to explore procedurally generated seabeds, alone or with friends. This cozy new game will delight budding explorers but be a nightmare for thalassophobes. Pre-orders are now open for a launch scheduled for May 2nd.
