While the Star Wars saga seems to be going through a difficult phase, like many other Disney franchises recently, there are still a few works that manage to get everyone on the same page. The recipe that made the excellent Rogue One a success in theaters in 2016 is proving just as effective on Disney+ almost ten years later. Of all the Star Wars series offered on the platform, Andor is the only one to enjoy such a positive reputation. The first batch of episodes, released in 2022, gave renewed hope to fans who were convinced that the franchise was slowly heading towards its demise. And if we are to believe the new trailer for season 2, which is fast approaching, the program seems determined to prove that Star Wars still has potential.
A much darker finale
With its numerous political intrigues, among other well-crafted twists, the first part of Andor already established itself as one of the most serious and realistic Star Wars works to date. But it seems that the next episodes are preparing to take an even more... dark. The atmosphere in the latest trailer seems more tense than ever, as war looms on the horizon and the stakes continue to rise. How far will they have to go to put an end to the Empire's machinations? While this answer can already be found in Rogue One, the path will remain no less strewn with of betrayals and other sacrifices that may well break our hearts.
Viewers can expect to encounter familiar faces, such as the horrific Director Orson Krennic, or the famous drone that everyone loves: K-2SO. By inviting us to Discover these key moments in the founding of the rebellion, the conflict between the Empire and the resistance promises to be more violent and cruel than ever. You'll have to hang on, but the spectacle will be all the more grandiose.
