GoPro is launching an anamorphic lens mod in its premium HB-Series range specifically for its Hero 13 Black camera. “The camera and lens take over, and you get the desired anamorphic effect, without the need for any special post-production skills. Everyone can tell their story thanks to the 21:9 aspect ratio, used for feature films,” says the American company.
You can also achieve cinema lens flare effects and enjoy the “de-squeezing” effect without the need for post-production. Note that the anamorphic lens module is scratch-resistant and waterproof, although the manufacturer specifies that it is not designed to be used underwater.
«The Hero13 Black camera automatically recognizes the lens when it is attached and switches to anamorphic mode. When it is removed, the camera returns to its standard settings,” the manufacturer also states in the device description.
