iPhone 17: the models unveiled, here is the first complete overview of the future Apple series

New mockup images of the four iPhone 17 models have just been leaked, offering what could be our best look yet at the next generation of Apple smartphones. These dummy units, shared by famous leaker Sonny Dickson, reveal interesting details about the design and dimensions of each model in the range.

These mockups, while non-functional, are generally created from schematics from Apple's supply chain. They allow accessory manufacturers to prepare their products ahead of the official launch, scheduled for next September.

A quartet with distinct personalities

This year, each model seems to have unique characteristics:

  • iPhone 17: True to its predecessors, it retains a familiar design with two vertical photo sensors in a pill-shaped module. Its dimensions are said to be 149.62 mm x 71.46 mm x 7.96 mm.
  • iPhone 17 Air: The big new product this year, replacing the iPhone 16 Plus. Its ultra-thin design (only 5.65 mm thick) clearly sets it apart from other models. It features a single photo sensor integrated into a horizontal band reminiscent of the Google Pixel style.
  • iPhone 17 Pro: It adopts a new design with a photo module extending across the entire width of the device. The three sensors are arranged in a triangle on the left, while the flash, microphone, and LiDAR are moved to the right. Its dimensions are said to be 149.63 mm x 71.44 mm x 8.75 mm.
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max: Potentially renamed "iPhone 17 Ultra," it takes the design of the Pro in a larger format. Its dimensions are said to be 163.04 mm x 77.59 mm x 8.75 mm.

These mockups confirm several rumors that have been circulating for months, notably concerning the major redesign of the Pro models and the introduction of the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air. Despite its extreme thinness, the iPhone 17 Air seems to retain MagSafe compatibility, contrary to some speculation. However, its design could pose challenges in terms of autonomy and durability. The Pro models, meanwhile, appear slightly thicker than their predecessors, which could indicate an increase in battery capacity.
