Samsung is taking its time releasing One UI 7, its interface based on Android 15. The Galaxy Z Flip 6, which should be part of the first wave of models to benefit from the update in April, will benefit from a very interesting addition.
The flip smartphone is already benefiting from the beta and Android Central has spotted the new feature. In addition to the additions already seen on the Galaxy S25, the phone makes unlocking its external screen much simpler.
Samsung has understood the interest in customization
We had dedicated a full video to this option this summer of 2024. Basically, the external screen of the Z Flip is quite limited. It only works on a tile principle and only supports a few applications.
But a hidden option allows you to increase its potential tenfold. To do this, you have to tinker a little by installing the Good Lock application and then installing a module called MultiStar from this application. A sequence of actions that is a little too complicated for the majority of users are taking the plunge.
Samsung seems to agree and has therefore added a simple button in the Z Flip 6 interface under the One UI 7 beta. In the menu that allows you to choose which apps can be used from the external screen, a new button offers to download MultiStar directly, without even going through Good Lock. Once installed, this button takes you directly to the module and allows you to select other applications.
