In Japan, more than 400 stores offering the PS5 rental service are fully booked. Faced with the enthusiasm of Japanese players, Sony decided to export the concept to Europe and began testing in the United Kingdom. When you visit PS Direct UK, Sony will offer you a list of consoles and accessories to rent, starting at £11 per month (around £13 per month).

  • A PS5 Slim, All Digital, £11 per month (around £13)
  • A PS5 Slim, with drive, £12 per month (around £14.5)
  • A PS5 Pro (without drive), £19 per month (around £22)
  • A PSVR2, £18.50 per month (around £22)
  • A PSVR2 with Horizon Call of the Mountains, £20 per month (around £24)
  • A PS Portal, £6.50 per month (around £7.50)

Sony offers players a subscription system with a fixed-term contract of 12, 24 or 36 months. There is also a monthly payment option that can be renewed for those who prefer. In total, Sony offers no less than nine options:

  • PlayStation 5 Pro console
  • PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition console
  • PlayStation 5 Slim console
  • PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition console – DualSense wireless controller two-pack
  • PlayStation 5 Slim console – DualSense wireless controller two-pack
  • PS Portal
  • PlayStation VR2
  • PlayStation VR2 + Horizon Call of the Mountains game
  • DualSense Edge wireless controller

It remains to be seen whether this system will be a success in Europe and whether it will eventually arrive in France. At this time, nothing seems to be planned for our territory at the moment.
