Renault's R5 E-Tech range is being completed with a new version. While waiting for the one that will allow customers to buy the new electric city car assembled in France at a price below 25,000 euros, a new version at 36,490 euros is coming and it is the worthy heir to the R5 Roland-Garros. It receives a special color, Satin Schist Gray, even if it is also available in Pearl White, Nocturnal Blue and Starry Black.
In addition to new rims and a few references on the bodywork, the new R5 E-Tech Roland-Garros will stand out with its interior. Its specific gray and blue upholstery is highlighted by a few orange touches, such as inside the storage compartment of the central console, or around the floor mats. The word "Roland-Garros Paris" sits proudly on the dashboard, right of the 10.1-inch central screen.
1000 euros more than Iconic for the R5 Roland-Garros
The new special edition is available to order in exchange for an additional 1000 euros, compared to the Iconic version, which tops the range. Unsurprisingly, the Renault R5 E-Tech Roland-Garros is therefore equipped with the largest battery on offer, 52 kWh, with the best charging power (100 kW in direct current) and the 150 hp engine. All for a WLTP autonomy announced at 409 km.
The Iconic version behind this R5 Roland-Garros thus offers it the high-end equipment that Renault has launched on its city car, namely level 2 autonomous driving, with adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistance. This is also the version that provides access to heated front seats and steering wheel, as well as the V2L adapter for bidirectional charging.
After Peugeot for 38 years, Renault launches its Roland-Garros versions
The Roland-Garros versions have long been associated with Peugeot, which for 38 years benefited from a partnership with the Paris tennis tournament. Enough to allow it to be the official transporter, to let its cars be photographed alongside big stars, but also to launch special series, like on the 205, 106, 206 and 307.

Peugeot has passed the torch to Renault, which has been alongside the Grand Slam tennis tournament since 2022. First as an official car, and then as a special series. When it was announced, the model was due to arrive in 2024 at the time of the launch of the R5 E-Tech, but it ultimately took a little longer. For customers, the first to be served will be those who had purchased the famous R-Pass launched by Renault, a sort of "queue-jumping" to gain priority access to purchase orders (and therefore deliveries).
