What's new in One UI 7.0?
One UI 7.0 brings a whole host of new features. Visual overhaul, new features, simplified navigation... There's plenty to do! Here are the main ones:
A revised interface
The most important new feature is the interface. Samsung has completely remodeled its design. First, the desktop icons have been redesigned, with more colors, widgets are now tiles, and the grid is more symmetrical to take up less space. Samsung also offers more customization options, with the option to completely remove text for a more streamlined look. Many small things have been redesigned, such as transparency effects and the layout of certain menus. To put it simply, it's much more intuitive and attractive.
A richer AOD
The Always On Display also has its own little overhaul, with more customization and the ability to add Widgets. Plus, photos can be cropped to create cool effects, just like on iOS.
The Now Bar
The other big new feature in One UI 7 is the Now Bar. Simply put: it's Dynamic Island, but on Android. When your screen is locked, notification chips will appear as needed. They display the score of your favorite team, the route you've set on your GPS, or even the music you're listening to. They stack up as needed, and tapping on them gives you access to more information. When you unlock the phone, this information is relegated to the top of the screen, just like on iPhones. Important note: Now Bar is different from classic notifications, so your messages are not affected.
The drop-down menu
Samsung has also completely revised its drop-down menu. The settings menu has a redesigned look, with more rounded tiles and more clearly categorized tiles.
But the biggest new feature is that it's now split into two parts. Pull down from the top right of the screen and you have the settings. Pull down from the left and notifications appear. For those who only want to keep one pane, it is entirely possible to merge them in the settings.

What is the role of Galaxy AI in One UI 7.0?
Galaxy AI is One UI's artificial intelligence. It was introduced with One UI 6.0 on the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra. It allows you to do a whole bunch of things, like generating text, transcribing audio, summarizing an article or editing photos. A feature that is well on its way to staying; it logically interferes in One UI 7.0.

AI can thus be used for what is mentioned above, but not only. For example, an audio cleaning tool is making its appearance. It allows you to analyze the sound of a video and remove background noise, in order to have clearer voices. Clever and useful. Even more, an image generation system is introduced. It works either with drawings, or prompts, or both combined. It's always fun to use.
The AI also offers the Now Brief. Every morning, it sends you a summary of your day ahead, with the weather, planned events, or simply music or video suggestions. Everything is entirely created by AI and improves over time. An evening briefing is also available to take stock.
Finally, Gemini is a larger part of the overlay. Google's AI can be easily activated with the power button. Convenient.
Of course, this is just a summary of the main new features. One UI 7 brings a whole bunch of other things, like more fluidity and stability.
