The next games announced during the Direct Pokémon will also be released on the Switch 1

A few hours ago, Nintendo (finally) lifted the veil on the famous Nintendo Switch 2 that has been talked about for many months. Unfortunately, apart from a brief presentation of the console's new design of only two minutes, we were not given any other information such as the price, release date, technical specifications or even the first games.

We may be lucky enough to get a glimpse of it next month during the traditional Pokémon Presents. However, rest assured, the Pokémon games that will be revealed next month will not be exclusive to the Switch 2!

The Switch hasn't said its last word

The next games announced during the Direct Pokémon will also be released on the Switch 1

Like every year, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company will (without a doubt) meet us on February 27 for Pokémon Day to discover a special Pokemon Presents to highlight the upcoming games whether on consoles or mobiles. There is a good chance, as always, that a multitude of announcements will be made related to the Pokemon license.

With the very recent announcement of the Switch 2, we can also expect new images of Pokemon Legends Z/A and, why not, the announcement of a new game? In any case, rest assured. According to journalist Jeff Grubb, the games that will be presented on this occasion will not be exclusive to the Switch 2. In addition, we learn (and still according to the journalist) that the games presented, even if they come out on the new console, will not be titles that will have been specifically developed for the new platform.

Thus, Pokemon Legends Z/A will indeed be released on the Switch, the first of its name, and the upcoming Pokémon games that will be presented next month will not reflect the future of the license. We will have to be patient for that. As for the Switch 2, Nintendo is giving us a date on April 2, 2025 for a special Nintendo Direct to reveal all the information about the console.
