The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are expected to be released this summer along with a new addition to the foldable family. Samsung is reportedly preparing for mass production of a smartphone that folds into three parts.
Previous reports suggested that Samsung would launch its tri-fold smartphone in the summer of 2025. New information comes to us via the South Korean media ETNews, which claims that the smartphone will indeed be ready for availability in a few months, and that it should be announced at the same time as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, probably during the month of July 2025.
According to the source, Samsung is in the process of securing the parts for the manufacture of its first smartphone that folds into three parts. The manufacturer would expect to be supplied by its partners in April and the mass production should start in at about the same time as the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. This device would also belong to the same Galaxy Z family, with Samsung wanting to group all of its folding smartphones under the same range so as not to lose consumers. But the name Galaxy G Fold has also been put forward by several rumors, and it is quite possible that Samsung has not yet made a final decision on the name of the mobile.
After the Fold and Flip, Samsung is expanding its foldable range
Currently, the Huawei Mate XT is the only smartphone that folds in three on the market. Samsung's proposal should be different, since we are talking about a design that folds twice at inside, while one flap of the Mate XT folds inwards and another outwards. This design should make the smartphone more durable and better protect the screen.
Once the device is unfolded, the main display could measure 9.96 inches, giving the impression of having a tablet in your hands, with a ratio certainly less oriented horizontally. The diagonal of the external screen would be 6.49 inches. Samsung could integrate the same external panel on this new device as on the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
After years of stagnation, Samsung seems to have moved up a gear in terms of innovation. Last year, we got a Galaxy Z Fold SE. In 2025, we should get this tri-fold smartphone, as well as a thin and light Galaxy S25 Slim, potentially in the spring.
