YouTube regularly tests features with its users. These aren't always very useful. We recently had the benefit of a playback speed multiplied by 4 or a new button to find content more quickly. But the latest test spotted by Android Police is much more interesting for end users.
This is an option allowing YouTube Premium subscribers to share a video without ads with friends and family who are not subscribers. For the moment, this feature is being tested with a limited number of users and in a reduced list of countries (Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Turkey and the United Kingdom). A page of support is already online and details the system.
The outlines of the option seem rather generous
In detail, YouTube gives the possibility of sharing up to 10 videos per month with as many users as you want, which seems rather generous. In the press, sharing paid articles, for example, generally only works the unit.
Each user who has received the video will be able to watch it up to 10 times without ads for a period of 30 days from the creation of the sharing link. To create the link, nothing could be simpler, just select a new option that appears when you press the word "share" in the interface of the online video platform. The number of shares remaining will also be displayed there.
Two restrictions apply. The first is quite simple: you must be connected with a Google account and watch from the YouTube app. Second restriction, the person receiving the video must want to play it in a country where YouTube Premium is operated. If the person wanting to watch Squeezie without advertising lives in the Vatican or Monaco, it will not be possible, unless using a VPN.
