A new Nintendo Direct this week, what to expect?

A new Nintendo Direct this week, what to expect?

After months, even years, of rumors and leaks of all kinds, the Nintendo Switch 2 will finally be released on June 5th, with some big games available at launch. After the Nintendo Direct dedicated to the console, the one that interests us will focus on what is probably one of its biggest exclusives: Mario Kart World.

A new Nintendo Direct already on the right track

During the presentation of the Nintendo Switch 2, the Japanese giant reminded us of a new Nintendo Direct this Thursday, April 17th, this time dedicated to not to its new machine, but to one of its exclusives available at launch. Thus, Mario Kart World, in more than one way a sort of standard-bearer to highlight the console, will be the star of the next Big N conference.

Mario Kart World will certainly mark a turning point compared to the previous opus, one of the biggest best-sellers of the first Switch of the name. This new opus therefore has heavy responsibilities on its shoulders to launch the Switch 2 as it should. To do this, it launches into the open world, like a Forza Horizon, with the possibility of exploring a vast map in complete freedom and launching races almost anywhere. The Nintendo Direct should allow us to learn more about this. In addition to exploring the world, Mario Kart World will feature the classic Grand Prix mode, as well as Elimination mode, where the last participants will be eliminated from the tournament, leaving only one remaining. We should also learn more about the circuits themselves.

The Nintendo Direct dedicated to Mario Kart World should also introduce us to its new gameplay mechanics, such as sliding on rails, as well as the new items that we can collect on the tracks. Finally, we are keeping an eye on this conference when it comes to customizing our driver and his vehicle. A point that the Treehouse, having followed the console presentation, did not explore further. With dozens of characters identified, we expect something dense in this area. The answer will probably be this April 17 at 3:00 p.m.
