Amazfit BIP 6: a more smart connected watch, always at a low price

The Bip 6 retains the simple and lightweight style that we know from the range, but significantly improves the technical specifications. The screen switches to AMOLED, with a slightly larger diagonal (1.97 inches) and a much finer resolution (450x390 pixels). Above all, the brightness increases to 2,000 nits, which makes the watch much more readable outdoors. The glass is treated against fingerprints, a practical detail for everyday use, even if we will have to see if it is really effective.

New screen and health monitoring

The case combines aluminum and reinforced polymer, and the liquid silicone straps are still comfortable, with a standard format of 22 mm. Two physical buttons are present on the right side.

Inside, Amazfit relies on its new Zepp OS 4.5 system, based on OpenAI technologies. This is that things get a little more original, with the "Food Logging" function. Concretely, you can photograph your plate or describe it quickly, and the watch automatically analyzes the nutritional intake (calories, carbohydrates, proteins, etc.). Enough to refine your diet without taking out the calculator.

Side Health is solid: heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep, stress level, recovery score... The Bip 6 offers comprehensive monitoring that on paper seems pretty comprehensive. The BioTracker 6.0 sensor is more accurate than the previous model, and supports heart rate variability (HRV) analysis, a data valued by athletes.

With more than 140 sports supported (from fitness to HYROX, including swimming), the Bip 6 is clearly designed for physical activity. Some disciplines benefit from enhanced monitoring: personalized plans, analysis of the muscles used, recovery advice... All this is accompanied by the Zepp Coach, an integrated intelligent assistant.

The watch is waterproof (5 ATM), has a multi-band GPS, allows the downloading of maps with turn-by-turn guidance, and also offers Bluetooth 5.2 for making calls or receiving notifications once paired with the phone.

A microphone and a speaker are integrated, as well as a voice control system called Zepp Flow: you can speak naturally to your watch, without having to learn specific phrases. Quite pleasant to use.

Finally, the battery life is improving: 14 days announced in normal use, 6 days in intensive use, or 32 hours with GPS. The USB-C charging base is provided, but without a cable – for ecological reasons, according to the brand.

Available at €79.99 in four colors (black, red, stone and anthracite), the Bip 6 is aimed at active users who want good health and sports monitoring, without blowing their budget. You don't need to be a pro to enjoy it: the interface is simple, the experience seems fluid, and the functions are numerous enough to avoid getting bored.
