Google I/O is the unmissable event of the year for developers and Android smartphone users alike. The company reveals new features (sometimes new devices) that will be distributed throughout the year through updates to the operating system and its components. In 2025, Google I/O will take place from May 20 to 21.
Clearly, Google has a lot to show this year! The company will present the "Android Show I/O Edition" On May 13th, a special event will showcase "exciting updates for Android." This is the first time Google has held such a showcase just days before Google I/O.
This could mean the company's slate is so full that the Google I/O keynote won't be enough. Or that the keynote will be entirely devoted to Gemini-related news, who knows? The company does, however, promise to reveal "even more special announcements and surprises" during I/O, so May is going to be a busy month.
"The Android Show" is a regular show offered by Google on YouTube, usually for developers only.
